The Chester Historical Preservation Committee is sponsoring a lecture by Dr. Joseph Edgette on Wednesday October 12, 2011 at 7 PM at the Hedgerow Theater, 146 Rose Valley Road, Rose Valley, Pa .He will speak on the role Civil War hospitals played in Delaware County Dr. Edgette is Professor Emeritus and Folkelore Emeritus at Widener University.His presentation will be very interesting and informative.

The Newtown Square Historical Society requests the pleasure of your company at our very first Harvest Moon Party on Saturday, October 15th,
6-10pm at the Drexel Lodge Pavilion. Please gather with us, just a mile and a half west of town on West Chester Pike, behind the Train Museum. The culture, customs, hardships and the daily work routine will be
brought to life by colonial clad volunteers. Come learn and discover
how to churn butter, make candles, and apple butter. Also, see
a working blacksmith shop, and enjoy the delicious aroma from the
walk-in working fireplace while listening to the music of the Marple Community Band.
Stroll the lawn next door at the Marple Christian Church and visit their
Craft Sale where vendors will provide a variety of arts and crafts for
you to purchase.
Tours of the Massey House will also be available.
