Farm Chores at the Plantation & Open Houses

The Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation will offer its first ever “Wednesday Evening at the Farm” with a special presentation by local historian, Keith Lockhart. The event will be held inside the main ballroom at the headquarters at Ridley Creek State Park. This is the office for the State Park, the old Jeffords Mansion, just follow the signs for the park office.
At 7 PM Lockhart will present the program featuring his prized collection of Delaware County postcards. Lockhart’s collection is considered the largest of its kind in the region. Take a trip through Delaware County 100 years ago when postcards were the rage! During the evening the Colonial Plantation farmhouse and the kitchen garden will be available for tours they will open at 6. Demonstrations taking place include textile making and long rifle firing. Of course, the Plantation’s farm animals will be around for viewing.
Closing time is 9 PM. Admission is $5 per person. Children under 4 are free. One fee for both events! Money to benefit the Colonial Plantation.
The Plantation is located in Ridley Creek State Park and is easily reached via Routes 3, 352, 252 or Providence Road.

  Whenever you see farm chores you know that it will be a peaceful day where you can play "colonial" and enjoy the serenity of the farm. You are invited to work on a project or skill that you want to do.

Parking lot is located off St. David's Road on the other side of the creek. Note that the St. David's Bridge will be closed starting July 16th for repairs, please follow detour signs.

Parking is off of Goshen Road, behind the building and field.
